As a responsible breeder, I ensure all of my dogs are health tested prior to breeding. I ensure all breed appropriate tests are done, including those recommended by the breeds national club. Additionally I have all of my dogs screens for potential genetic defects.
The recommended tests for our breed include, eye certification by a veterinarian Ophthalmologist, knees check and certified for luxating patellas, SOD1 test for possible Degenerative Myopathy (not yet confirmed in our breed) and Thyroid T-4.
